I got 1 unexpected questions from unexpected students where i tought they are clever enough to think when they are in Pre-Law groups...As usual on Tuesday evening, since I had 4 hours straight class, I will request for a 5 minutes gaps in the second class. The unexpected question was arise during the 5 minutes breaks.
Student: Madam, I have 1 question...
Me: Yes, proceed...
Student: Madam, we are here to be a lawyer but why do we need to learn about computers?
Me: (a bit shocked for a moment and since I tought I need to give a brief and straight explanation to the student, i came out with this question) Ok, tell me what happen if you computer is breakdown?
Student: Madam, working as a lawyer would have a big salary so why dont we just sent the computer to the responsible person and pay for charge.
Me: Means since u have a lot of money, u wont care how much they charge you eventhought they did nothing to your computer?Student: Madam, working as a lawyer would have a big salary so why dont we just sent the computer to the responsible person and pay for charge.
Student : (silence)
Me: Just tell me do u know how well L.A.W.Y.E.R works? In the new era of IT, do they still using paper pen to do their works? And another simple questions, what happen if you said, yes lawyer have started using computer to do their works, and suddenly if you stuck in the middle of process and dont even know how to settle it down. Are you going to call your secretary (person who is "lower" level than you) to help you solve the problem? Arent u feel ashame because the "lower" level people know even better about computer rather than you are?
Student: (silence)
While the rest of the students who act as listener in the first place was smiling....Student: (silence)
